    10.3 doesn't come with Classic?

    I haven't used OS 9.x for about hmmmm, 7 months now. There's really no need for it to be there at all now. Move along people, nothing to see here.

    Tomcat...JSP....Struts....Servlets

    The best thing really to get started is to join the Apache mailing lists, you can also browse archives. There a good start. I use Tomcat on a daily basis, but I don't generally just use JSP, I use Apache Cocoon, Xindice and Forrest, that's were the cutting edge is (in my opinion). XML, XSLT...

    mac os X dylemma

    Ah, OK. you have to remember that if your creating a web app then you're limited by what you can do with a browser. This is possible to do this. Take a look at phpMyAdmin. I don't know of any products that do this as such.

    There's also PostgreSQL that has some additional features. Or you could think about and embedded DB(s) such as HyperSonic SQL (http://hsqldb.sourceforge.net/), Xindice, Berkeley DB. As such they could be run from within a servlet container and so are platform independent. Crystal reports...

    What kind of internet connection do you have?

    I have a 512 DSL connection, but I'd like to get at least a 1meg, with fixed IP, I work from home (as a developer) so speed is kinda important. The faster the better.

    Longhorn Release Date...woot.

    Lognhorn is pretty naff really. Especially considering that M$ can't design UI(s) to save their lives. All that blue! To much of any saturated colour like that is a no, no. After staring at that for a few hours it will send your vision orange! :D

    Xserve/g5 Combined!

    Yellow Dog, Gentoo, hmmm... what's the other one, no can't remember. Anyway the aforementioned all work on OS X Server. The US Navy recently bought a whole load of XServes with YD Linux.

    Code editor - recommendation??

    My 2 cents BBedit - 10 /10, but not good for everything. I still use vi and pico often. Oh and BBEdit can edit remotely via passive FTP already :p

    Axis --> WebServices.framework

    I haven't worked with Axis yet, but I do know that there is an implementation of it in the latest Apache Cocoon. Cocoon 2.1.1 (CVS tree). It may be worth checking out. I would highly recommend Cocoon. Cocoon 2.1 ;)
