Looking for an IDE card driver for an old G4...

I'll have a look for chip names once I get home. The machine is running Tiger at the moment, so no luck there. Thanks for the reply!

Looking for an IDE card driver for an old G4...

I guess I've been confused about the model of machine myself - apologies for the red herring. It does have a silver front, but not mirrored. It isn't dark grey like the first generation G4s were. It has a small speaker on the front face, towards the bottom, which doesn't have any kind of cover...

Looking for an IDE card driver for an old G4...

Hi guys, I have an old G4 (mirrored front) that I've recently been upgrading on the cheap. I was able to max out the RAM in fairly straightforward fashion with a couple of eBay purchases. However, I also bought a 250Gb hard disc. It's an IDE/PATA model, but both motherboard controllers...

Bulk faxing software - any recommendations?

I've got a mailing list of several hundred people that we would like to send faxes to. Can anyone recommend good software to do this with? I have had a bit of a play around with PageSender but I'm sure there must be something better suited to my purpose out there. Most of the programs I've...

    SD Card won't mount

There are some pretty good recover programs out there - search VersionTracker.com for "photo recovery" or "SD recover" and you should find something. I had success with a program a while ago, but I can't remember the name.

Thanks for the reply! How do you find it for synchronising after the first backup? Does it manage that without choking? Cheers, Stuart

    Best Backup software?

Hi there, I've been looking for some backup software for a while. To be honest, I didn't think it would be this difficult but I'm struggling to find something that will do what I want. Can anyone recommend something that will do the job? Here is what I am trying to do: I have a...

    Keyfob Recovery

Hi Everybody, A friend of mine managed to lose a file that he was working on. It is a Word document which was saved onto a USB keyfob. Someone pulled the keyfob out without dismounting it. The file icon is still visible, but is showing up as 0 bytes in size. Does anyone know of any...

    Electric Guitar through an iMic?

Is your guitar an electric or acoustic? If you have an electric guitar, then you may get better results plugging into the amp, then connecting your amp's line out to the iMic input. Give it a try. Note - make sure it is a line out, not a speaker jack or anything similarly deadly :)

Memory for iMac / Panther experiences

Got the firmware update installed - couldn't find it on the install CD so wound up having to download it. It updated fine, but the machine still can't see the memory. :( Anyone had any problems using cheap, "generic" memory not specifically intended for macs? It's a standard PC133 module...

Memory for iMac / Panther experiences

Hi everybody, I have a slot-loading iMac, currently running OS9.1, which I would ideally like to upgrade to Panther. I figure I should upgrade the RAM (currently at 256Mb before doing so. Bought a 512Mb PC133 memory module for it, but it doesn't work and also doesn't appear in the System...

Cheapest method for capturing analogue video?

Our first attempt at capturing analogue video was using a Formac Studio box. Never seemed to be able to get it to work properly without loads of tweaking, endless restarts etc. In comparison, every time we have used a camcorder as a go-between it has worked seamlessly without any problems...
