so by assembly, you mean the whole logic board itself? Or just the slot itself? and if it were the antenna, the card would at least be detected by OS X with really bad reception. I've reseated the card a dozen times with no avail.

aren't the airport slots on Ibook g3 500's, built in?

OSX does not detect my (Original) airport card at all. I've updated everything with Software update. I've tested the card on other Macs and they detect the card. I've tested other cards on my iBook but still it still can't detect any airport cards. Basically it's my iBook. any suggestions...
