Take a look at "Print to PDF" http://www.jwwalker.com/pages/pdf.html I use it to print from classic since my printers don't support classic. After saving the resultant PDF to my OSX desktop I can print it in Panther.

I assume you are using OS 9.x.x since you referred to the Chooser. If the printer appears in the "left" box, have you tried "selecting" it in the "left" box. It should then appear in the "right" box allowing you to select the port to which the printer is connected. ::love::

I have just inherited an HP3845 & will be usb attaching it the my G3 running ODX 10.3.9 in the next day or so. I'll report my results then. :(
