Same thing for me, I used Spotless to reset, then reindexed, still hangs during search. Let me know if you find a cure.

Did you ever manage to sort this out? I just signed up with Toucan, but the Speedtouch 330 that came with it just isn´t recognised, no matter how many times I install and uninstall the drivers.

I Just installed OS10.4 on an eMac (1.25GHz/G4) and I lost my administrator privileges. The strange thing is, none of the accounts have administrator status (in preferences), so I can't simply change password using the startup disk. Also root was not active. Thanks!
