Before you re-install, take a look at your /etc/sshd_config file. Near the top of this file should be a line that reads: PermitRootLogin yes Make sure that this line has not been commented out, or changed to no. all is in order, as you wrote here, but the root's terminal won't start up...

I do not have nothing in /var/root I have installed Xfree and fink sudo tcsh works, not ssh I think I'd do better to reinstall...:mad:

I cannot use the root terminal: it says _tcsh: /bin/tcsh: Exec format error note that I can normally log on graphically as root, and use my other users' shell, and execute sudo command... please help me...:(

Yea! it is only a little slow in classic, but it works very well. As I already said, Dreamweaver's code is lighter than GoLive's code. Form me is a better tool to design pages...

I know that I'll have to wait for DreamWeaver, but it is my choosen tool for web authoring. IMHO the codes that it generates is far better than GoLive's
