SO once I burn it without mounting it..what can I do..should it just work right then or what? Thanks..sorry for my stupidity!!

Can anyone really really help me out..I will be in debt!! I have downloaded a dmg image, and I seem to be able to get the Mac OS X Install CD to mount on my dekstop. From there, I try and burn a copy of the CD...but I can't make the CD bootable for some reason? What am I doing wrong? I click...
