Hi again. I'm pleased to say I was able to get my computer back to functioning by booting up with the 9.2 disk, then selecting the proper startup disk. Still, I'm left wondering if a totally clean install might be best here, and if so, how do I save all my stuff? If someone has time to advise...

I am so glad that I happened across this forum, just hours before I went home and somehow damaged my computer enough that it no longer boots up from the hard drive. Forgive me in advance for being longwinded, I'm trying to think of everything you might need to know to answer this question...
