I'm using G5 and often the Illustrator make unexpected quit. What's the reason, and the solution please. Thanks

I'm working on G5 mac and version 10.3 and 10.4 and the quit alot with the message "has unexpected quit" and unsaved files has went with the wind !!! Anyone has the same situation or anyone has the solution ? And I'll be thankful ::love::
