Hello all, I'm having a wee bit of a problem using file sharing. I have three mac's (2 ibooks A+B ppc, & 1 mini intel) all running leopard. I can connect the mini to ibook A, no problem and vice versa. However, ibook B, will not connect to the mini, but i can connect the mini to...

or verbose or single user modes ... they don't exist on my machine... i cannot even startup from the leopard install disk!!!

it does the same thing... my machine does not recognise any of the apple shortkey commands... i don't see any apple either!! please PRAM zap DOES NOT WORK!

mac mini intel. i have tried cmd+opt... but it does not recognise anything.

when the mac boots i never see any sign of os x... no apple... no nothing... if i start using the cmd+opt+o+f it does nothing. like as if when i changed the startup disk initially in mac os x, after reboot, it continues to look for the ubuntu live cd, disregarding everything else.

i think i did install grub on the external fw drive but it does'nt recognise the drive unless i boot using the ubuntu live cd.

and yes i did try and install the live cd on an external fw drive.

ya i\ve no problem getting the cd out of the drive. but it does'nt recognise anything else!!!

even if i wanted too reinstall os x from scratch... i cant... because it does not recognise it!!1

unfortnately i have tried that. but it does not recognise any of the usual cmd opt commands. infact it does'nt recognise anything except the ubuntu live cd. without the cd it says 'grub hard disk error'. i tried the os x disk without any look. i cant access the firware at all.

hi all, i am in a sticky situation! my mac os x mini was working fine. i decided i would like to investigate ubuntu. so i downloaded the ubuntu live cd iso and burned it onto a disk. next thing, i go to system preferences in mac os x and change the startup disk to be the ubuntu live...

do you think that will do the trick? does it make any sense to you about whats wrong? thanks again.

hi all, having a major problem. my ibook crashed. it froze while i was on the net. so i restarted it, now it will only get to '...starting mac os x' the progress bar fills and then it freezes. my osx disk is damaged, so thats no good. i've no backup. can anyone help? maybe you could skype me...
