I've never heard of "jumper settings"? Where kind I find them in OSX?

Under Disk Burning reads: "No burning device was found. If you are using an external device please make sure that it is connected and powered properly." My device is internal and hooked up correctly. I also tried 'Patchburn4', but it didn't find a drive either.
