So, earlier today I was doing a routine software update, and I would say *about* 86% of the way through system optimization I had a kernel panic, had to re-boot only to find that my computer wouldn't get past "Login Window Starting". It appears as though the startup window quits, as it fades out...

No bracket, but I just erased the drive and it's been working fine. Kinda a bummer since there was some stuff I didn't have backed up on it, but it would crash at bootup as a single drive, so there wasn't really any other choice I guess. Thanks a lot anyway though.

I recently installed a new internal hard drive to use as a slave, and upon booting up it worked perfectly. That is until I had a Kernel Panic and was forced to reboot, and now the disk won't mount on startup nor does Disk Utility mount it, even though the disk is recognized. This is on a G3 B&W...
