    Music on PowerMac G4

I don't know yet, because I haven't reached the limit yet, and I just started using the 800MHz PowerMac. I think you can get as many audiotracks as you want. Really lots of them (depends on your HD, so you could eventually choose faster PCI IDE-card and a faster HD). The numer of effects could...

    Music on PowerMac G4

I can't tell you how much is the max, because I, with a G4 800MHz, never reached the max. I can only tell you about my set-up and experiences so far. I have a RME Hammerfall Multiface, a TC-Works Powercore-card and Logic Platinum 5.5. It really works like a dream. My advise is to go for the...

    Apple's last WORD

Word is nice for simple documents, but it's a joke with more complex documents, like legal contracts. It's difficult, but it works, but all of a sudden it ruins your complete document and there's no way to get it right again, no logic will help you. The Windows-version won't help either. You...

What do we reckon for 10.2.x or 10.3?

Yes, I think you're right LordOphidian, groups or something would be better. By extra functions I also mean the 'groups' could be dynamic. A group can be something you throw in it (like apps, docs, maybe grouped within itself), but it can also be, for instance, all applications on your disk, all...

What do we reckon for 10.2.x or 10.3?

I would like to see Dock-folders, which would be interactive folders in the dock. You could, for instance make one Dock-folder in which you place all your internet applications, another for your graphic apps, etc. I know you can put a folder on the dock already. But with Dock-folders you only...

Gecko-engine should be part of MacOS X

Wouldn't it be a good idea to just implement the open source Gecko HTML-rendering engine in MacOS X. I think, like .pdf, MacOS X should be able to handle HTML (actually also things like XML) natively. It's used so commonly and it would probably boost browsing speeds in MacOS X. What do you think?

    Chimera > iWeb

    They could call it iBrow.

What .Mac should have been like

I think Apple made a mistake by this move. It's ok they want to charge you for a product that is more than iTools was. So, you have to pay now, but you'll get even more than iTools was. That's understandable and I think plenty people will want to use the integrated services. What I don't...

    What browser should I use?

I just went from IE to Mozilla and don't think I will move back again. I think there's only two choices, if you want a complete browser, in the sense that you don't want to be bothered with sites that don't work on it: IE and Mozilla. Mozilla is fast (interface is a bit sluggish though)...

using window title-bar to navigate through open windows

No, the difference is having to click the control key (although you can also click and hold, but that takes extra time). Also, when you have many apps in the dock (some have about 30 apps in the dock) it's hard to find the right icon, which takes time. Then the contextual menu in the dock also...

using window title-bar to navigate through open windows

No, my first post never appeared, so something went wrong there. You're right that I don't get much support here, although on other forums my idea has become a long thread and, after I explained it again, maybe better, they were very enthousiastic. I think it's more that people don't really...

    Mail.app should follow nettiquette-rules for reply-mails

I don't understand why Mail.app doesn't follow the rule that when you reply to a message, it should first paste the quote (original message) and put the cursor below the quoted text, so you can write your reply below the quoted text. Instead it puts it above the quoted text. It should follow...

    Brushed metal

I agree, the brushed metal look is outdated and doesn't fit in the Aqua-look. Strange that Apple is the one that doesn't follow GUI-rules at times. I think iMovie could be an exception, or even FCP, but all other apps, like iTunes and Sherlock, they should stick to Aqua.

using window title-bar to navigate through open windows

I think this is too much a hassle, especially when the dock is hidden. Also you have to search the app's icon (especially hard when you have many apps in the dock), and you have to click and hold, which means even more time wasted on waiting just to change a window. Just clicking on the title of...

using window title-bar to navigate through open windows

I already posted this idea to this forum, but it doesn't show; so here's another try. For me a big hassle is still to navigate through open windows (OS 9 and OS X). The windows menu or the dock aren't very handy for this. I think an easy solution for this would be the option to navigate...

easier windows-navigation by clicking window-title or adding tabs

It's still not easy to navigate through open windows in an app. It would be a big help if one could navigate through windows with the window-title bar. Either by adding tabs of each open windows, or, more subtle, by clicking (could be command-clicking, but rather not) on the title on the...
