I know about the disk corruption on Rev. 1 B/W's, but i figured it was alright since the corruption test tool from xlr8yourmac couldnt find anything.

hmm... aparently it didnt _FIX_ the problem.. my box just pulled another USBMouse trap yesterday... But it's definatly more stable now! ... "only" two crashes i as many days!:rolleyes:

I think i've solved it :) ... i reinstalled 10.1 again, and followed the update path from 10.1.3-combo, 10.1.4 and software update for 10.1.5... still the same problem.. I then read on apple.com's newsgroups that software update would sometimes fck up your downloads if downloaded over a slow...

I read on apple.com that it was official that 10.1.6 would be released before 10.2 ... work even begun on it before 10.1.5 was released. and thank god for that.. i've never had a system as unstable as my 10.1.5 box :(

hmm... since noone seems to have heard about this bug (or doesnt recognize it!), i took the time to _manually_ write down the trap message... If i just keep my hand away from the mouse, everything is rock solid... but when using the mouse i get crashes sometimes as soon as the login screen...

Every now and then my B/W Rev. 1. traps with the USB.mouse module. It always happens when i'm moving the mouse (duh) . The problem is there regardless of the version of OS X i'm using.. i've tried 10.1, 10.1.3, 10.1.4, 10.1.5.. always the same! I've tried a bunch of things... replacing...

I'm running it on a 400mhz G3 (B/W Rev1) here.. and it runs like a dream.. even after i pulled out 128 mb. ram .. running on 256 mb. now!.. (i finally figured out where all of those trap messages were coming from:D )

Based on the comments in this thread, and on the drive compability database at xlr8youmac.com, i went out and bought myself a 7200rpm ATA133 maxtor 60gb (DX-740) today, along with a new ATA100 cable. And guess what.. it actually works.. no corruption at all! .. I have the drive as master...
