why is it every time i install the latest version of os x i always have to sort out the web server via the httpd file? is there a way round this or am i doing something wrong?

explorer on os x is terrible. when I first fire it up it's o.k. but after a couple of sites it does exactly what you said. I now use Navigator. I too am running a dual 1Ghz 1gig ram g4, it also happens on my laptop.
