10.1.1 software update still not working?

When I click update and it says it contacting server (or whatever it says) I look at internet connect, the send bar goes up, but the receiving bar doesn't. Then after a bit software update beeps and says there was an error.
 
does your 9x updater work? if so, be sure you have installed everything it says you need. then try x again. there is a very specific order to updates these days that must be followed or installer won't work. the installer itself is one of these. see this thread for more on this. being sure your firmware is up to date is very important as well.
 
In OS 9.2.1 Software Update says that my software is up to date, I know 9.2.2 is out and I don't know why it didn't so it. But don't really care, I want it to work in X. I did manually download software update 1.3.1 and install it. Some time back. Last time it worked was 11-22-01!!
