12" AlBook draining battery in sleep

My wife's 12" AlBook seems to be draining its battery when asleep. It'll go to sleep with a full charge and next morning will have powered itself down, needing to be plugged in in order to start up.

This seems to be a new phenomenon. It seems to be since I last ran Software Update - which included 10.2.8 (previously was 10.2.6), the battery update, Java, Quicktime, etc. Note that I did repair permissions following the updates.

Previously it didn't seem to lose any significant amount of power while asleep.

Anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions?

I have the same problem. i have the ibook charged full, then put it to sleep, then next day only 91% is left. help! ::alien::

It's normal for the battery to drain during sleep: sleep is a low-power mode, not a no-power mode. Normally it drains about 1% an hour in sleep.

If your battery is acting weirdly, first make sure you have the most recent system updates, then unplug your laptop, let it run on the battery until it goes to sleep, then plug it in again and let it charge all the way up to 100% and then some. This will recalibrate your battery and it should function normally.
