I apologize if I had posted my question at the wrong section of this site.

Recently I bought the new HR 15" Aluminum PowerBook G4, and am lookng to find a nice carrying solution for it.

Any recommendation is welcomed.

Thank you in advance!

Sincerely,

George Lien

I personally prefer the backpack as opposed to the ubiquitous messenger bag, or computer bag. The backpacs (chosen wisely) tend to not scream "Hey! Ive got a computer in here!" thus condemning you to the nerd-label, or to having the thieves-bullseye painted on you. Another reason for my choice is that I walk everywhere (in the city) and its easier to carry in a backpack than a carry bag or sling.

Just a personal preference really, there are a LOT of options out there! Happy Hunting!

A great point, THANKS!

Any particular brand or model?

whatever's comfortable and has good protection. i use a swiss army backpack. good straps, ample storage, and the computer compartment is well padded.

I'm quite pleased with Brenthaven: http://www.brenthaven.com/store/flash/flash.html
I've got the backpack. While it's a bit pricey, the quality is impeccable, its got plenty of space for extras, and the protection is about as good as it gets for a soft bag/pack.
My 17" Powerbook is somewhat heavier than the 15" PB
but is quite comfortable to carry in the backpack, even with my added odds and ends.
One's PB deserves nothing but the best!

I've got a Targus backpack that's quite nice and doesn't scream "notebook!" (besides the Targus tag, that is). Works well. However: I have about 15 different bags and backpacks and I'm often changing between what I'm using. Mostly, I put the 15" PB into a "wetsuit" (you know, those neoprene thingies the PB nicely fits into, because they're made for it) and just have it in "any" of my bags. More padding not needed, since I pay attention not to drop things or let my bags be kicked into.

Thank you, everybody.

I just wonder why you guys avoid mentioning a particular model.

Best Regards,

George Lien
