17" Studio Display goes Wide?

Ummm, Well, i need to get a display to go with my cube, and had set my mind on the 17" Studio Display, but i read over at MacWhispers that it could turn into a wide aspect screen, which looks better! Does anyone know how soon this could happen? I Can't wait too long! *impatience*

The display line was just updated, the 17" 4/3 being the new low end display. My personal guess: Apple will eventually produce a standalone 17" wide screen (the iMac's and PB 17's screen) but will wait a little longer (the 17" panels used now are cheaper).
 
Yea, i assumed it would be the same 1440*900 Screen used in the iMac ... But i've spent AGES waiting, i dunno if i can wait LONGER ... besides, with apple updates, you could wait forever, for better Spec'd items per pound (Sterling :p) ... i think i might just go for the 1280*1024 one availiable now! ... i don't like the thought of using my Cube on a 14" CRT!
