2 gig ram Max ram

I'm running a G4 450 Saw tooth. runnig OS X 10.4.4. Word has it if your system is running OS X you are no longer held back from the Ram Max being 1.5 gig but you can max it out to 2 gigs. I'm looking to max it out finally to give my G4 maybe 1 more year of usage. Can anyone confirm this?

As long as you have the G4 Firmware Update 2.4 or greater installed, it should work. Haven't tried it personally, but I do know of someone with a DP 450 machine (had the same 1.5GB initial limit) running 4 x 512MB chips. Definitely suggest buying from a reputable dealer who guarantees their memory to work with Macs (MacSales, Crucial, etc.)
