Hello everyone,

Here is the situatiuon I've run into.

I Have an I-Mac with a build in network adapter. I also have a USB NIC that I would like to use (SMC2208USB).

What I would like to do is have this machine on 2 networks. 192.168.1.x and 192.168.2.x.

The 192.168.2.x network will use the USB adapter and be used for internet while the 192.168.1.x network will be used for filesharing with the internet disabled, using the built in network.

Here's what I've done so far. I have them both installed and I have set a static address on the built in adapter (192.168.1.x) without DNS (to disable internet). While I have the 192.168.2.x NIC set to DHCP. The Network Status says that the USB nic is unplugged, but I can ping the 192.168.2.x Network. I can also ping the 192.168.1.x network. I can't get internet unless I unplug the Built In Ethernet!

How can I get internet on one NIC and and internal network on the other?

The SMC USB NIC says that it's unplugged but it DOES work. Is there a way to over-ride this function?

Thanks,

Sean
