2 questions. Black face kernels and no System Profiler

I have a G5 dual/10.3.3, and there are times when I get the black face reboot on my screen. I was wondering what that means. I'm using Logic while this is happening. Also, I can't open the System Profiler from the Apple menu > About This Mac > More Info. I tried from the program itself, and that too doesn't work.

Any clues?
