Can I put a third IDE drive in my G4 Quicksilver?
If yes, how?
I've got another 30 gig just sitting around that I'd like to use.

yes, just did that a week ago. You can fit it into the zip drive slot, but you can't fix it with screws. Then pray that the IDE connector and power connector fit with the openings on the back of the ZIP drive. Jumper it to be "Slave", and it will work.

Or, if you don't want to loose the functionality of the zip drive, you can get an ATA PCI card, and use it to connect your drive.
 
Or consider an external firewire case!

BTW: Does anybody know any good PCI ATA cards? I'd love to add some more disks to my Quicksilver...
 
Hey, thanx! Hopefully one of them is available here in Germany! I don't really care about speed, but since I tend to keep my whole (S)VCD collection also as images on HDDs, I am constantly reaching the limit of my file server HDD (only called like that, it's just a disk inside my Quicksilver which also servers as a "file server"-like HDD for the small network here, no true file server capabilities)
