30 Day trial Expired?? But I never used it???

I bought a used Apple G4 Power Mac one month ago.

Today I dowloaded some 30 day trials from Adobe to tryout. When I open the programs they all say that my trial period has expired. But I have never even been able to open the programs before? Could it be that the last owner of the computer tried them out and it left hidden files?

I tried creating another user account, trashing all the Adobe files on my HD, but still no avail. I would really like to try out a few of these programs to see how fast they run on my Mac before spending some big bucks. I am looking at getting the CS2 and After Affects.

Any ideas. Thanks.

you will need to reinstall what ever copy of OS X you are runing. because some stuff will get put in the system folder. and it's not safe to pull stuff out of there. With out knowing what you are doing. Because it sounds as if the other guy you got the mac from had try some of the same "Try it before you buy it." stuff that you are wanting to run. It's all so a good thing to do that because you don't know what other stuff i.e. kiddy porn or Warez he may have downloaded. last thing you want is to have is the MPAA or RIAA or the LAW sueing you for stuff you did not even know you had.

You'd have to do an "Erase and install", which should delete all records of previous trials, unless Adobe somehow logged your hardware and sent it to a server..

that is not the case. only the cs stuff uses your hardware to make a hash key for your computer, so that adobe can make a key just for you.

Ok so I re-installed OSX 10.4 but kept my preferences and accounts. It just moved my older system to a folder called previous system but kep all my settings. It cleared everything up and the trials I wanted to try work now. Once I know that everything works well I will delete the previous owner's system folder.

Thank you so much for the assistance everyone.
