512 k on the new ibook's g3... but the tower g4 is at 256 k ..... hmmmmm

If you notice, desktop G4s are faster in MHz... and most of them have big L3 cache too... and G4s are faster too, especially now with OS X...

G3 needed some speed improvements... they still have 100MHz bus... and desktops are going to have 266 really soon (133 x2)

It is all to balance performances...

that seems to be a problem with apple. the user products are always held back because of the slow developement of the higher end products. i just wish they could fit 1 meg of L2 on the g4, then it would kill anything, especialy the new 1.5 g4's, which by the way are sopost to have 4 megs of L3 cache.
