Very frustrating for this "non-expert " to update my wife's 266mhz grape iMac to OS 9.2, from OS 8.6. It asks me to "update the firmware" when trying to install. Thus not letting me install.....
Fiiiiinnnnne. Tells me to go to the CD extras folder on the install disc -- it ain't there!!! I've searched apple's support download site until my eyes crossed. I either all ready have that update or the firmware update listed is for slot driven iMacs (ours is a tray loader)??? It's like everything on their site is either for ancient stuff of really fresh stuff???
I've also just ordered more memory so her iMac will be OS X ready, when I install X on it. However, I ASSUME it will ask me to "update my firmware" then as well???
So could some kind, better navigating soul please direct me to the right firmware update link?

266 Grape iMac (8.6 for the moment) 96 MB (for the moment), 733 mhz Quicksilver G4, OS 10.1.3 (except for photoshop - damn), 895 MB. Airport linking the two
