Im just now learning macs... but as far as i know visual pc is basically windows xp for mac.. so u can run windows apps..

does this mean all windows apps will work under visual pc? including windows games...?


(what does visual pc do exactly?)
 
You're talking about "Virtual" PC right?

It's a little more complicated than that. VPC has to emulate x86 instructions so expect a performance hit, that would mean games are gonna be slower or even unplayable in this case.

Now that you understand that you are thinking about Virtual PC and not "visual PC," you need understand that VPC is not windows xp or anything like it. VPC emulates the hardware of an Intel x86-based computer. You can buy it bundled with PC-DOS. You may then install any x86 operating system you want. You may choose WinXP, but it is not required. You may set-up several disk images, each with a different OS. When you launch VPC, you choose whichever OS you want.

The up and coming OS X based versions will run all Windows versions, all (?) their apps and most games too if not all (yes including the 3D ones!)...
