I was told at the computer store today that the V-Gear Landisk could be plugged into my d-link router and be accessed by my desktop PC and wirelessly through my Mac Book Pro. I was skeptical but they assured it would fine and I bought it. The Landisk works with OSX 10.3 and above, but I thought it could only be partitioned for one OS.
I formatted it on the PC, but when I try and connect with the mac I get the message:
"The Finder cannot complete the operation because some data in "smb://landisk" could not be read or written. (Error code - 36)."
Is it possible to have somewhere to store my files and access them from both Windows and OSX?
I can access the files from the PC hdd through the network easily, I have just run out of room to continue to store all my files.
I am new to Macs so I am not entirely sure of how this works. Any help would be much appreciated.
Jamie
