Accidentally deleted photos

Last night I was in the process of backing up my files because my Mac has so much on it, I was transferring older stuff to my external hard drive to open up some space. In the process my computer started acting slow. So I thought I deleted the photos I had already transferred over, instead I deleted all Of my photos from 08-09. They aren't in the the trash can because I emptied it right there...trying to get more space.
Please, is there any way I can recover those files ?
I downloaded a program last night, and thought it was free, but once it was done finding all my pictures, it asked for a registration code in order to actually save the photos. I don't have the money to spend a hundred dollars on a program..

Your help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Heidi

Tokadot-Do you have mac os 10.? and up OS ? If so, open "time machine" and when it comes up> go to a date/time when iphoto was okay. find iphoto app and select it; now drop down to restore towards the bottom of screen and click on it. It should restore it to your hard drive. It may ask you to replace or restore iphoto. Replace it and in a few secs. you should have a new in applications. your photos should be back in iphoto.
Good luck on this.

Try using any good data recovery application to recover lost photos, files and folders. before buying or installing the software check the capability of the software in recovering deleted or lost files. check the application allows you to preview the recovered files before saving. this helps to identify the deleted files easily.
