Adium status messages

I couldn't find a forum on the Adium website so...
My status messages aren't showing up properly. On Yahoo, it won't show separate lines of text I make, it groups them all together into a paragraph. And, on AIM, it cuts off the ends of my messages. They don't share each others problems oddly enough. How can I get my messages to show up properly on both?
 
If you hold down Shift and then hit Return, it should be able to go down to the next line. This is what I do in Gaim and it works, and since Adium is based on Gaim it's probably the same. :)
