AirPort 2nd Key

Barking at the moon.
I don't have any idea buddy, but I'm going to copy it over to the Mac OS X System and Software forum .. hopefully someone more knowledgable (sp?) will see it over there.

I'm having some trouble with my 802.11b connection at work. At home, everything works fine, so i know the HW and setup is okay. On my pc laptop(s) at work, the Key/password for the network MUST be put in the 2nd key field (most PC 802.11b configuration screens have room for multiple keys).

At work the base stations are cisco gear, configured for 128bit WEP.

Is there any way to "force" the airport to use a key in the second key field? Or does anyone else have experience getting something like this working?

Strangely, the ibook can "see" the network, and will show full signal, but will never be able to retrieve an IP (in my experience, this generally occurs when encryption isn't working right).

Anyway, I've been working on getting this working for a quite a while, and I'm totally stumped.

Here is a trace of the wireless scan from doing an 'ifconfig en1 debug' and watching the console:

WirelessScan timeout waiting for first scan result

2002-05-31 17:36:39.063 System Preferences[322] Airport error while scanning networks: -2013261821

Please let me know if you have any suggestions -- I've tried nearly everything I can find/think of -- $'s, 0x's, quotes, etc..

Thanks for the help,
JB
