Airport and Netgear incompatibilities?

I was wondering if anyone knows of any incompatibilities between Airport extreme cards and Netgear 802.11g base stations?

I have one of each in my house, when my powerbook goes to sleep sometimes when it wakes up it either does not see the network, or it does not connect automatically. When I select the network manually it says that I cannot connect. Usually this happens once in a while, and it is fixed with a reboot. My powerbook usually has an uptime of a week or more before I need to reboot, and it is in those long uptimes that it exhibits this problem.

any ideas?

I heard about this issue also with 802.11b airport cards and not only netgear routers. Do you have WEP and MAC filters on? Would be interesting to see if that's the problem..

I too read about some airport/netgear issue someplace (macosxhints.com maybe?)

I've got an 802.11g netgear router and an airport express (and airport extreme in my pb). network connection is fine, but here are the issues I've come across:

1 - can't hook airport express into my netgear network, and print wirelessly. I have to have 2 networks - 1 for internet, and 1 for printing. :(
2 - when airport express is setup for airtunes (w/in my netgear network) i find that I have to reset the airport express to be found on my netgear network occasionally, so I can play music to my stereo, from my pb.
3 - airport express doesn't seem to be able to extend my netgear network. perhaps it's only set to extend another airport network. who knows.

**I only ever use the airport express for one of these things at a time, never a combo of features.**

none of the issues are horrible (I came from a windows world, so these are acceptable 'issues'....) but i guess I'd expect them to either be better documented, or work a little more seemlessly.

I have WEP on, no MAC authentication on.
Maybe authentication fails (even though it is on my keychain).
Sometimes it asks me for the password again, I input it and I have problems connecting.

Did you try to setup a MAC filter but turn off the WEP for some time? Another thing that you surely checked: firmware-update for your netgear router
