Hi
I have recently installed an airport extreme card in my dual 1.8 G5 (18 months old model) following the instruction from the apple site.
Since installation it randomly causes my machine to freeze in a variety of ways.
If I disconnect from the wirless network and then go to the Connect button under the signal strength icon in the menu bar it freezes casuing me to shutdown using the button on the fornt panel
Sometimes it causes a freeze on startup - sometimes at the spinning grey circle on the grey screen and sometimes it gets to the desktop and just before the airport connection strength icon appears top right the mahcine freezes and I have to shut down using the button on the front panel
Last time it did this (2 days ago) it would not start up without freezing after about 15 attempts and I have had to remove the card altogether. The Machine works fine without it!
Is this a known problem, is it likely to be a faulty card or something else? As the card is new I can get it replaced but wanted to check if it may be something else before resorting to sending the card back and waiting for a new one.
I am running 10.4.4 with the latest airport update done via software update.
Can anyway shed any light on this?
Cheers
dan
