AirPort Express Assistant isn't compatible with Windows XP Service Pack 2

The Late: SuperMacMod
AirPort Express Assistant for Windows XP version 1.0 does not work with Windows XP after Service Pack 2 has been installed.

If you're in this situation, please use the AirPort Admin Utility 4.0 or later instead. Your AirPort Express software CD contains a copy of AirPort Admin Utility.

Oh, too bad. But I guess Apple will make an update to the Assistant available soon enough.

Well, they did upgrade wireless networking tools and protocols vastly... It's no surprise that the utility broke.

Well, but MS _did_ give out early betas of WinXP SP2 and Apple _would_ have had the time to test their not SOO many applications against that service pack well in advance of its release...

I wonder if SP2 also broke the iTunes functionality in favor of their new music store?

Not really. The SP2 firewall blocks the iTunes Rendezvous/OpenTalk ports, but you will be prompted by Windows to unblock it when iTunes opens.

So how come Microsoft didn't have time to test it themselves? XP SP2 "breaks" some things in Office XP. The Microsoft KB document lists every major component of office, ranging from 2000 to 2003.
