Airport Express

Hi, I curently have a dlink router, an iMac and a laptop (windows) both connected wireless, and an AirPort Express.

I have 2 problems that I can't figure out how to fix.

1) I can't get my AirPort Express to act as expanding my current network, rather it must create its own network instead of joining the current network.

2) I can't connect my laptop (windows) into the Airport network to Print from the USB printer hooked up to my AirPort Express.

Am I not able to make the AirPort Express expand my current network unless I have an AirPort Extreme Base Station, or is there a way to do this with my current router?
I want to have it all on 1 network and be able to print to the printer on the AirPort Express from both computers.
Am I able to do this or do I need to buy an AirPort Extreme. (This is what I have been told.)

When setting up your AE using Airport Setup Assistant, there is an option to choose 'join your network' rather than create. Choose Join.
I suggest a reset and simply set up the AE again.

For your printer, use Bonjour, which you can find at apple.com
