I just installed an airport card in my powermac g4 along with the software for purposes of wireless printing. The device is plugged in ( the light is green);
connected to the internet and the printer usb cable is plugged in.However, when I go through the set up assistant, I get the following error message:"an error occurred joining the selected wireless network". I get the same message every time I try . Your help is appreciated...Thanks

I took your advice and reset the device but I get the same message still; I understand that it is supposed to be a simple set up so I must be missing something..............thanks

The error message you are describing means that the Mac is trying to join an Airport network that either doesn't exist, is the wrong one, or doesn't have the correct password.

I recommend you reset the Airport Express, then run the Airport Setup Assistant on your Mac. It is far easier to fix everything up when you're starting from factory settings and it'll ensure that your settings on the Airport Express and in your Mac's System Preferences all match up properly.
