Airport Extreme Base Stn - Firmware 5.7 Is it OK to use?

I have had my Airport Extreme Base Station for almost a year. It came with firmware 5.5.1. It worked OK.

Almost immediately I updated to firmware 5.6 and the APE stopped working. Took a while to find that the problem was with v5.6. I reverted back to 5.5.1 and all is fine.

I now see that v5.7 has been available since March. Is it safe to use?

I use the APE with a USB printer and a D-Link 300t DSL modem.

And.. the article on the Apple site says it should appear on Software Update - it didn't - was it only looking for v5.6 to update?

If I recall correctly, there were some issues with it at first. I have been using it with out a problem. Although, I am not sure it is needed, as you have your current version working correctly.

Well, I've upgraded and all is well!!

I know it was OK before, but other family members have access to the computer and if they go into the Airport Admin Utility (they shouldn't - but did!) and twice they have accepted the drop down offer of the upgrade to 5.6. I then had to reset it all...
