I've a new 12" 1.33 PB with built-in airport extreme. am using a 3com wireless router at home. problem is the signal range is only 5' on my PB! i borrowed a friend's older 17" PB (1st batch when it first came out) and tried its airport extreme on my router and it worked fine! the range covered well over 20'! is there incompatibility problems with the airport extreme in the new PBs? or could it be settings in network prefs? HELP! thanks!

Hi desng and welcome to the forum.
Do you get the full signal strength when you have your powerbook very close to the router? If not, there might be something wrong with the antenna. Actually your built-in airport extreme supports 11mbit and 54mbit standards and there are no incompatibility problems.
Did you also update your panther? Check out Software Update. Maybe you missed an airport extreme update.
