Airport Extreme modem

hi folks - I have an iBook+airport card and just picked up an Airport Extreme base station with modem. My plan is/was to connect via our university modem pool. I have done this in the past with the iBook internal modem so it is a connection path I know can work. The problem is, via the Airport modem the connection can never be established (I can get it to dial the number OK). when I look at the configuration for the Airport connection, I have DHCP, Ethernet, PPeP but no PPP. Anybody run into this before?

If you're actualy getting it to dial the number correctly I would be 99.9% sure that it supports PPP... especialy if it also supports PPPoE. If it's dialing up via phone line the only two protocols that I've seen in wide use are PPP and SLIP (the latter I haven't seen used in years)
