Airport installation

I have an iBook G4 , 10.3.9

I was told at the Mac show to buy Airport Extreme but found that I also needed a Router.I could have just bought the Router it now seems. Anyway I can't return the Airport extreme. I then bought an ASDL Modem DSL- 300T. as advised by the Mac Store.

I have tried in vain to install both. Any advice
 
Did you buy an Airport Extreme card or base station? If it is the base station, then that is a router.

Can you tell us what router you bought? Have you tried following the instructions in the manual that came with it?
 
I have an Airport card installed and have also bought an Airport Extreme base station. I went to the Mac shop and they sold me an ADSL Modem which they said I needed as well. A friend tried for hours to read the manual and set up but it was hell.
