Hello everyone,
Today we had an electrician come to our house to do some things. Anyway, he was a putz, and kept turning the power off without warning. Twice he DID warn me, but turned it off just 15 second later, which meant he cut the power WHILE my iMac was shutting down.
It may not be related, but tonight I'm noticing my internet has been very slow, often my Airport card cannot even find my wireless router (whereas my iBook, sitting next to my imac, finds it fine).
Stranger still, if i put the mac to sleep, then wake it up, I get 3 out of 4 bars, so a strong signal, and fast too. But within 2-5 minutes this drops little by little until finally the net stops altogether unless I put it to sleep again.
what is going on, and is it possible the power outages caused this?
In total there were 2 times the power was cut while mac was on, and 2 times when the power was cut while mac was in the middle of shutting down.
