I picked up an Airport Extreme base station, and I have a multifunction printer. Obviously a multifunction won't be on Apple's compatiblity list, but I was wondering something: Can the print server be comminucated to directly via IP printing? Like a standard print server, does it have it's own IP address? My printer's software supports networked operation, so if I had an IP, it would work fine. I tried the base station's IP itself, but that didnt work. I'd like to know if that's possible. One more thing is: If the above is true or not, might it be possible for the USB port on the base station to emulate a USB port on the Mac? It might take a bit of software, but if I could map the base station's USB port to a virtual USB port on my Mac, I could use any USB printer with it's own USB software. (Thats the way Apple should have done it)
