Hello,
I can't seem to get a enougth signal to my G5's internal Airport Extreme. I got a weedy little T-ariel plugged into the back but the signal strength is up and down and frequently dropping out. The LinkSys wireless router is only in the next room aprox 8 metres away.
I've tried moving the router to different positions (cable length allowing). I've tried other routers... a belkin and a D-link with little to no difference. Although the colder it is the better for the LinkSys
I've tried the signal robustness tick box, but as far as I can tell that only filters out MicroWave Oven interfearance(?)
Its a 512k phone line.
My ibook has good signal strength and its sitting next to the G5 which is running the same OSX Tiger 10.4.3 The G5 is Dual 1.8 Ghz PowerPC's with 1.5 Gb RAM in it.
Is there any other options aside:
- Drilling holes in the house and running ethernet cables to the G5
- Buying a Airport Express to act as a repeater and gaining all of 2 metres
Why does the signal go and up down so? Neither the Router or the G5 are moving...
