All I need is a 10GB FireWire Hard Drive

That's all I need. A cheap 10 Gig FireWire Hard Drive to back up my 6 Gigs of files from my computer. I need it for a few reasons. One being I'm afraid my HD's gonna die soon, and also because I will be getting a new computer soon, and I need the HD to put my files on so when I sell this computer to buy the next I don't lose my files.

So my question to you is, What do you suggest? Cheapest I can get. I'll only need it for a few months. After I replace my computer I'm going to be selling it again. But I really really need it.

I've been shopping around everywhere, but before I make a commitment, I wanna know what the best price for a 10 GB HD would be.

A good place to look for FW drives is at www.macsales.com , which is OtherWorld Computing. I bought a FW CD-RW from them and they're really helpful, and specialize in Macs (obviously).

My FireWire HD is a 20 gig VST portable, so it's powered by FireWire and has to plug. It's really cool and has been very usefull for backing up.

Thanks anyway. I ended up buying a 60 Gig LaCie FireWire HD for my back up. Just in time too, because my HD is dying.

Problem is I don't NEED 60 GB. I really only needed 10. But the smallest was a 5GB Pocked drive and the smallest NORMAL HD was a USB 20-GB. USB's too slow. So I had to get the $260 60GB FireWire HD. Sadly it's not powered by the port. But it's only for backups anyway.
