from all the information I have read about CUPS (Common Unix Printing Sytem) It will essentially let all of you waiting for drivers to print. It was not present in the Jaguar WWDC Seed but look for it very soon in new 10.2 betas.
 
I guess that means as soon as I get Jaguar I can trash Classic :D I've been waiting forever for Epson to get off their butts and release a driver for my poor old Epson COLOR 580...
 
My question is how they are going to integrate CUPS into the current OS X printing arch. I would hope that they didn't put all that work into createing the new printing system and then throw it out the window to use CUPS.

Although maybe that is a good thing, since CUPS uses IPP and LPR which are much more standard. We shall see.
 
Print Center crashes for me in 10.2, so I guess CUPS isn't implemented in this build.

BUT, once it is, there's a little thing in the Sharing control panel...

I don't really know how many people know about this in 10.2 as I haven't heard it discussed much, but this is also using CUPS I believe, once it's done.

10.2 gets better every day.... :D
