Good evening wise-ones, I have another puzzle for you. I am now running Panther on an old G3 ibook.Very impressive so far, many thanks to those of you who have already helped me with your expert advice.Tried to print from my old version of Clarisworks in the classic invironment and found my old os9 epson printer drivers kicking in.I am now using a canon ip1600 pinter which Panther will handle without the need for installing any canon software from disk (WHOOPIE!) How can I print from classic using "THE PANTHER?"

Canon's website does not list MacOS 9 as a supported OS for your iP1600 printer. Some vendors include MacOS 9 drivers with their MacOS X. If Canon does not do this, then you are going to have to use the Classic Apple Printer Utility to setup a virtual PostScript printer. You must then use Classic > Chooser to select the Virtual Postscript printer as your printer for the Classic environment. This will allow you to printer from your Classic applications to a PostScript file. You can then open the PostScript file in Preview, which will automatically convert it to PDF. You can print the PostScript file from Preview.
