Altering video size in Quicktime

Hi,

I have a DivX movie which has been created with wrong aspect ratio and appears squashed. It is showing 4:3 when it should be 16:9. I need to change the size so when presented in full screen it appears in the correct aspect ratio.

At the moment if I change the size of the window in Quicktime while holding shift I can get it to approximately the right size, however, when I view it full screen it returns to its original aspect ratio.

Is there anyway to change the size for good quickly and easily without exporting the movie using a DivX codec at the right size which will lose quality and take a long time?

Thanks ;)

If (and only if) you have Quicktime Pro, you can select "Get Movie Properties" from the "Movie" menu, set the left popup to 'video track', set the right popup to 'size', click 'adjust', and stretch the image to any aspect you want. Remember to save the resized movie before exiting.

With MPlayer (another video player) you can choose the aspect ration, so you could watch it without re-encoding it first.
