Always Open With

Howdy
I just saw this over at http://www.resexcellence.com/

Control-click on an image in Jaguar. Notice the 'Open with...' option? Now, hit the option key while the menu is still open, and it will change to 'Always open with...'. Neat eh?

When i get to my X environment i'm gonna see if that works with things other than images too.

I was very excited until I noticed that (at least on my mac) it does not seem to work.

I download a .bin file which somehow gets set to HexEdit. I did the Always Open With... and it worked fine. I though very cool!

however the next time I downloaded a .bin file it opened in HexEdit...

maybe 10.2.1 :rolleyes:
 
It just changes that file. Not all of that kind. But i agree. It's stupid how some files default to opening in weird programs.
