Animating GIFs

devil's plaything
Is there a quick and dirty way to create animated GIFs from a sequence of JPEGs?

QT movies can be made by this way (in Pro), but they can't be exported/converted in any way that allows them to be opened in Preview as GIFs.

Found many little GIF builders on MU and VT, but could not download any of them, even the most recent!

Anyone have any suggestions?

Also, is there a way to scale down and save GIFs?

Hello Arden...

Hi Andy...

If you have Photoshop, simply put all the JPG's into their own layer and click the little button at the bottom of the toolbar that says "Switch to Indesign" (well the popup says it). Then you can make animation layers with only a certain layer visible at one time.

If you don't have Photoshop, search for a little program called GifBuilder (or Gif Builder). It's pretty self-explanatory.

How'd you know I'd post, anyway? ;) :D

Yes, sorry, I meant ImageReady.

And enough with the damn "rumor" bullcrap already! ;)

Wow, VT finally let me dl GIFfun! Was trying for hours the other day and nothing happened... weird.

ThanX everybody!

Yeah, whats up with that? I cannot download either. It says specified server cannot be found.

ImageReady is a staright forward and painless way of quickly making GIF's. It can tween too, which is pretty handy if you're feeling lazy.
