Hey Everyone!
This may sound somewhat crazy, but I was wondering if there is some way that I can take a song I wrote and place it into a somewhat protected format like what Apple uses in iTunes, the dreaded m4p format.
I know that ways are available to make protected songs unprotected, but are there ways to make unprotected songs protected? I tried everything I could think of! I use QT Pro, but it just wants to make everything a movie, or some other format that I don't want.
Here's the deal:
I have been working really hard for over a year on what I hope will be my first Album. I use Garageband and other programs that are available to OSX. I want to place a song or two on iCompositions.com, but I am very worried about theft. I am currently applying for copyrights, but I would like to get a song or two on this website I mentioned above to see what kind of response (if any) I get.
What I need is a way to secure my songs so that when I upload them, it will take some work to copy them for someone who thinks they are beyond the simple act of asking me if he/she/it can copy my song. (I provide contact info in the appropriate fields when I encode the songs to mp3 and such).
I just want a way to protect my work somewhat, knowing that there are tons of ways to get around this sort of thing. (I do it too!)
I guess I just want to feel a little bit better about posting my stuff on the net, since nearly everything on it gets hacked somehow, someway.
Anybody have any suggestions?
